Why see Lana Del Rey?

Lana Has a Lust for Life

Called a 'gangsta Nancy Sinatra', the eclectic Lana Del Rey fuses the elegance of a 1950s screen siren with streetwise charm and haunting, breathy trilling. Usually a sure-sight at summer festivals across North America, Lana Del Rey is finally embarking on her very first set of stadium headliner dates! Prepare to hear recent tracks including 'Grants' and 'A&W', alongside her trending release 'Say Yes To Heaven'.

Bittersweet songbird Lana Del Rey has carved a niche for herself as one of the hottest female performers out there at the moment, following the success of her first single 'Video Games' when it was released in 2012. Called a 'gangsta Nancy Sinatra', Del Rey's stage persona fuses the elegance of a 1950s screen siren with streetwise charm and haunting, breathy trilling.

Her edgy music videos, sultry voice, long auburn hair, and signature pout turned her into sex-symbol long before her debut album was even released. There is no denying, however, the allure of singles like 'Summertime Sadness,' 'Brooklyn Baby,' and 'National Anthem'.

Lana being Lana

Lana put on a great show to a full house. She intermixed her new material with her old classics keeping everyone in the audience happy. She is the only performer I recall seeing who was able to sing an entire song laying down and still sounding great. Lana even went off script and played a song with her guitar which was a treat. The dancers were fun to watch as were the California sets. Not the most energetic but she does not have to be. Her sound was wonderful as was her band. Highly recommend seeing her if you can, she is a star in the making or made already.... ... Read more

AMAZING VOCALS

She was EXCELLENT. Her voice was ON POINT and never off key. She played most of her songs from NFR and also some classics (RIDE!!), not a lot from ultraviolence at least in Seattle. But she was so good. ... Read more

A different groove

Came in not knowing what to expect. Venue is a large room with curtains for sound deadening chairs to the rear with pretty comfortable seating. The sound could have been better. Ultimately reviews are about the experience. This concert had a way different vibe then anything I had ever been to. The audience was engaged during the songs but not thunderous applause after each sone was finished. A walk through the audience showed young women hugging and crying on each other's shoulders while singing along. I like art that speaks to me personally. I feel that I witnessed an artist that sings personal songs. My take away was that this was not a performance where everyone is caught up in shared energy. It was a show where the performer let you feel connected to yourself without fear of judgement. I am going to think about this for a while. To me that is the best kind of art. Not sure how the show will register with the masses. ... Read more
