A famed trumpeter and composer, whose voice became instantly recognizable to millions through his Making the Music series on NPR, Marsalis is the winner of nine Grammys and has played with everyone from Herbie Hancock to Dizzy Gillespie and Sarah Vaughn. Wynton Marsalis and Naseer Shamir are an Awesome Team!

This year's Jazz series at the Marcus Center started with a bang! The always impressive Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra collaborated with Nassir Shamma who played the Oud, a middle eastern style mandolin. I expected to hear awesome Jazz, and was not disappointed, but I was equally impressed and pleasantly surprised by the amazing sound of the Oud.
