I saw the Titanic when it first opened on Broadway, 25+ years ago. I loved the music so much, I bought the soundtrack on my way out of the theater and have played it over and over ever since. This was my first chance to see the show on stage again. The 2024 NSMT production was just as good as what I saw in New York. Regional theater isn't expected to live up to the Tony-award-winning production or the original cast recording, but this one really did. The cast and orchestra were pitch-perfect. Don't be deterred because you know the sad ending; like the movie, the musical is driven by interesting characters from all walks of life, with their plans and dreams under the shadow of their terrible fate. NSMT is a high-quality operation, but sometimes their shows don't always dazzle like shows downtown. This one does. A+
