So glad I went
I thought Franz Ferdinand brought down the house. Then The Pixies reminded me why they're the headline. On point, tight, and bringing the sincere energy - not just phoning it in. Great music and great acoustics. Not a bad seat in the house. Glad for it to by my daughter's first concert.
Pixies with my daughter part ll
The first and most important thing you notice when attending a Pixies show is no filler…The band comes out and always play’s start to finish without stories and fan interaction..All Business and more for your listening pleasure…great show
They are definitely back
I have seen the Pixies maybe 6 or 7 times and this show was possibly the best. The sound is so powerful and Francis Black’s voice so crisp. A blast from start to end, a perfect set list alternating fast and slower songs, older and newer ones, wow!
Amazing Show!
The entire set was pure energy! 38 songs and you never wanted it to end! The current lineup is a tight well oiled machine! Black Francis, Joey, and David have always been great, but with the addition of Paz they are on fire! She did an amazing job! A great mix of old and just enough new songs to put on a perfect show! Go see them if you want to see one of the all time great bands still perform at a high level!
Packed with plenty
From open to close this was a polished set that dipped into the full catalogue and was performed with gusto and polish. With stage lighting that let the band observe the audience and vice versa as tone dictated, the contrast between serenity and mania was played off excellently. As many old favourites as you could wish and a peppering of intriguing new sounds to whet the appetite. A great balance in an intimate open air atmosphere. Highlights for me were opening with Cactus, a slow tempo Nimrod's Son and a rendition of Gouge away under green lighting that redefined it for me. Quality and class.
AMAZING SHOW!
The band was tight and fresh! The Pixies make some of the best music ever and they are only getting better with time. You can tell they were having a blast even as they worked out a couple minor kinks- after all this was only their second date of the North American tour. Kim's replacement Paz is a natural fit and did a superb job. The Venue is great- just a few thousand of us in a steep configuration means they are all great seats. Easy parking and getting in and out. The beer line was ridiculously long- surely that can be avoided by providing enough staff. Overall a very memorable show!!
