What did the critics think of Jagged Little Pill?
Alanis Morisette's trail-blazing Jagged Little Pill has received a musical makeover in Boston, but what did the critics think?
Dan Wooten from The Sun was full of praise for the new production saying that 'this musical is perfectly perfect' with Variety saying 'Always engaging, often moving and even rousing, the show boasts dramatic interest and integrity on its own theatrical terms'.
The Boston Herald said that 'Like the source material' the musical adaptation of 'Jagged Little Pill' abandons subtlety. But the lack of delicacy in 'Jagged Little Pill' is a feature, not a bug... There has never been much room for nuance on Broadway (and this show is surely Broadway bound) and today's ills require blunt force'.
It looks like Morissette's iconic 1995 album is reborn and re-confirmed as one of the worlds greatest in this brand new and critically acclaimed musical!
