Why See Boston Symphony Orchestra - Ives and Beethoven?
back in time
Join Andris Nelsons as he leads the Boston Symphony Orchestra and special guests in recitals of work from Charles Ives and Beethoven. Expect to be moved by Ives's extract from his Three Places in New England suite, The Housatonic at Stockbridge, his celebration of the Berkshires inspired by a walk with his wife over 100 years ago that seeks to evoke the same trees, mists and atmosphere that is still visible today.
From the 20th Century to the 19th for Beethoven's 9th, one of the most incredible and sublime pieces in the canon.
