The rock great tours her latest politically-minded collection of songs

Why See PJ Harvey?

polly jean tours the hope six demolition project

Emerging into the British rock scene of the early 90s like a hurricane, Polly Jean Harvey set about taking names and kicking ass. As if the snarling debut album Dry, with its lacerating guitars and sexually frank lyricism, wasn't enough alone to qualify her for icon status, she continued releasing one stunning record after another, careering from the electronic-tinged Is This Desire? to the the glittering anthemic rock of Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea to the sparse, piano-led White Chalk.

Released in 2016, her latest album The Hope Six Demolition Project is a politically-minded effort, drawing on subjects as diverse as public housing in the US to the troubled history of Kosovo. Catch PJ Harvey when she hits House of Blues in Boston, MA, Closed April 17, 2017.
